Having completed the London Ring, a 78 Mile well signposted circuit of the Capital, I was looking for my next challenge. Then it came to me.... why look to follow in the footsteps of others when I could create something of my own?
So here it is, the Brummie Ring.... a circular walk of England's second city, using the following rules.
What can we expect? The maps are suggesting a surprising amount of greenery, lots of canals, some walking along well established long distance paths and Tipton.
The project started on 5/10/13 and was finished on 01/03/14.
So here it is, the Brummie Ring.... a circular walk of England's second city, using the following rules.
- As the crow flies, the route will be within 10 miles of New Street Station
- Start and End points will be at a train or tram location
- The walk will try and avoid roads, wherever possible
- 8 mile maximum of any single section
- No opportunity for refreshment will be knowingly passed by
- The website will grow, as I complete it. Stages will be added as they are walked
- Initial plans have a 65 mile walk broken down in 11 stages
- This may change - either in planning or when I see what is on the ground
- I welcome your feedback
