Earlswood lakes
This is a fine stretch of the Brummie Ring, following the Solihull Way for most of the route. There is, however, little to report on. With the exception of Earlswood Lakes.
On the OS Map, they have the exact shape of a pair of jeans. They are even blue, like denim. Walking them takes you on a weird road that is open to cars and then directly through the middle of them along a causeway. They deliver you to some very wild woods, which were flooded on the day that I walked them.
There are actually three lakes, Windmill, Earlswood and the more pedestrian, Terry's. They were built in 1820 to supply water to Stratford Canal.
An unexpected delight to walk around.
