Coleshill Parkway Station
If arriving from New Street, cross over the line on the bridge and leave through the main entrance. We have to navigate the new business park, where the footpaths on my version of the OS map, have been superseded by fences and new construction. However, you can still more or less follow the old paths. Walk out the station and cross the traffic lights. At the flooring business, take the access road on the right and walk down, with the business on your left. This leads to a carpark, which you walk through and turn right. Turn left into Temple Way and then take the alleyway which brings you to the A446. Carefully cross to the footpath on the opposite side. All countryside from now.
A446
Cross the field, and at the lane, bare left. Turn right down Gilson Drive. There is a footpath on the left hand side but this eventually gets overgrown, so I recommend staying on the metaled road which takes you over the M42. Immediately turn right and follow the woodland, the Belt, following the edge of the woodland, left. One field to cross and then take the bridge over the M6.
M6
Carefully cross the A452 and turn left. Posts mark 3 different long distance paths but they are as weird a LDP as you are likely to walk. Follow the high green bank between the roads and cross the roundabout to enter Cole Bank Nature Reserve. Drop down to the River Cole and follow this on the right hand bank, upstream.
This will lead to Meriden Park. Head in a south west direction, following the signs to the Lake. This lake is filled by the Kingshurst Brook, which you follow South West, all the way down to the outskirts of Maston Green. At Holly Lane, turn left, following the signs to the station.
