Earlswood Station
Turn left out of the station onto Forshaw Lane. As this bends to the left, tack the right hand fork onto Forshaw Heath Lane, taking the right hand fork again and then eventually bearing left to pass under the M42. On reaching the busy A435, walk slightly away from the Motorway Junction, as there is a safe gap in the central reservation. Take the lane to the left of the Rose and Crown Pub.
Rose and Crown Pub
Where Billesley Lane forks right, take the footpath over a field to a lane. If you are using an older OS Map, you would think you have to turn right to continue on the footpath, but it has been re-routed around the farm. There is a sign directly opposite you and follow the well signposted footpath to the Trig Point at Hob Hill. Spend as long as you like admiring the views.
Drop down the hill and pick up the footpath on the opposite side of the lane. This takes you to Old House Farm, where you cross another lane. There are a maze of footpaths now, so pay attention. Enter the field and cross the footpath. Take the right hand path, uphill, with a fence to your left. Cross the stile and you need to take the left hand path, which should take you to the left of a small pool. Drop downhill in a North West Direction on a good path until you pick up a broad track that will take you to Rowney Green Lane.
Rowney Green Lane
Turn right, then first left at Rowney Lodge Farm. A good track will take you under the A441 and a footpath will take you into Alvechurch. Turn right and then first left into School Lane. To get back to the station, follow the lane which turns into Station Lane. You can guess where this takes you. To explore Alvechurch, take the footpath up to the church. Investigate the churchyard and try to work out why they added the modern extension. Turn right to head into the town. Turn left to go to the Station.
