Solihull Station
Out of the station and turn right towards the town. Cross over the road at lights and head up Homer Road to the Island. Cross over and look for the narrow alley that runs diagonally. This is the Solihull Way and is marked on a post. At the end of the alley, turn left and look for Highfield road on the opposite side of the road. This green lane is for pedestrians only. At the end of the path, turn right onto the lane at Libbards Road.
Hillfield Park
Cross the roundabout, to access the park behind the Fieldhouse Pub. At first, there is no path and you need to walk South West across the grass, passing football pitches. Past the swings and slide, you can see the pool, which we pass to the right hand side. At Monkspath Hall Road, turn right and then first left at the roundabout. There is a stretch of green land that you can walk down to avoid road, although there is a footpath. The next roundabout is on the main Stratford Road. Turn right and almost immediately, there is a footpath on the left hand side, taking you into agricultural fields. With sheep. In Hall Green.
Cheswick Green
Over a couple of fields with stiles and you emerge at he North East corner of Cheswick Green. Go down Boscoble Road and turn left, then immediately right onto Cheswick Way, the main road through the village. Follow this all the way down to Greynolds Lane and turn right. Go straight over the cross roads onto Vicarage Road. Turn left onto Salter Street. Where the lane dogleggs right, you can go straight on to the Bulls Head Pub but we do need to take the dog leg. Turn right at the Reservoir Pub onto Valley Road. Earlswood Lakes are obvious.
Earlswood Lakes
Go down the road, taking the fork nearest the water. Turn left to take the road that bisects the lakes in half. At the end of the water, turn right through a gate and follow the water's edge of Earlswood Lake, all the way to the trees at Clowes Wood. Over the footbridge, across the lane and then over a stile into the woods. The way was indistinct on the day that I completed the walk, due to flooding. There is a public footpath that runs along the edge of the railway line (which should be on your left). Follow this all the way to Earlswood station.
