Sutton coldfield and rectory park
Until 1974, Sutton Coldfield was part of Warwickshire. Inevitably, it was swallowed by Birmingham. From the walk today, we can see how this is now the far border of Birmingham City- as we leave the houses and head into the countryside.
There is a comprehensive wiki page on Sutton Coldfield - the summary is that we can trace human activity from pre-historic times, through the roman, tudor and English Civil war - where it aways has a story to tell.
Rectory park is the main place for sports in Sutton and was developed in 1701. We cross football pitches and pass the rugby and cricket club.

m6 toll road
We do walk through the villages of Over Green, Wishaw and Curdworth. There are a couple of pubs but not a lot else to say.
We then cross the most lanes of traffic that I can remember navigating. Fortunately on a bridge. This is where the M42 and M6 Toll split. The M6 Toll was opened in 2004 as Britain's first toll motorway. It is 27 miles in length, splitting the M6 at Junction 4 and rejoining at junction 11.
I may have walked over it, but I have never driven on it.
