Originally, I was going to finish at Water Orton. Looked good on the map. When I came to plan the train times, it was a no go. Trains once every two hours in the week?
However, the rail times app did show that there was Coleshill Parkway. This is not even on my OS Map. Looks like a new development with far more regular trains. But more expensive - £5.30 for a 13 minute journey.
It didn't make too much difference to the walking times, so I dived in.
This leg starts in a great place. Sutton Coldfield deserves exploration in its own right. We have a leafy start through Rectory Park and a lot of road walking, albeit through countryside. The hamlets of Over Green, Wishaw and Curdworth are quickly navigated before a horrendous stretch through an industrial complex for haulage firms and a sewage park.
Still, it got me where I wanted to get to!
